Hey neighbor—come on down to St. Elmo on Saturday May 3, for the neighborhood’s first ever Porchfest! Porchfest will celebrate the community with live music, food and activities happening on the porches, parks, and yards of neighbors and local businesses. Clumpies Ice Cream Co. is proud to partner with the organizers of the St. Elmo Stroll to support this great event.
Starting at 10 a.m., you can enjoy over 20 local bands and musicians of all genres at over 20 locations around the neighborhood. However, Porchfest is more than just music. Take a stroll down the leafy streets of St. Elmo for food trucks, cornhole and yard games, yoga and even tarot readings. Most events will be
hosted outside the lovely bungalows and historic homes of the area. Clumpies is one of a handful of businesses that is hosting live music.
Stop by our St. Elmo scoop shop on May 3 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. for a live performance by Chattanooga’s own Teni Rane, a folk-country singer-songwriter. Teni will serenade our patio with her brand of “country-infused, Americana-folk-pop with a jazzy vocal lean.” Teni Rane’s first full length album, Goldenrod, “explores what it means to make progress through life without erasing the lessons and emotions of the past and present.”
Goldenrod balances Raine’s acoustic guitar with cello, piano, electric guitars, and other musical sounds, in collaboration with Grammy-nominated musicians Dave Eggar and Phil Faconti, and Grammy nominated producer Mike Stephenson.
Porchfest is organized by St. Elmo Stroll, a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating connection, creativity and community in St. Elmo. Founded in 2020, St. Elmo stroll began with a single event, the Luminaria, held in December. Each event put on by St. Elmo Stroll raises money for community nonprofits. Thanks to volunteers and local businesses, St. Elmo Stroll has raised almost $15,000 for local nonprofits, including the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and the Lookout Mountain Conservancy.
We’re excited to celebrate St. Elmo alongside our neighbors. Clumpies joined the neighborhood in 2015, when the Incline Railway Station became home to our second-ever shop — this spring marks our tenth anniversary at that location. In 2017, our new production facility was opened at the base of Lookout Mountain near St. Elmo, where every bite of our ice cream is made only nine gallons at a time. From pasteurizing the ice cream base in-house to cooking each inclusion, Clumpies ice cream is about as local as it gets.
while you check out all the fun during St. Elmo’s inaugural Porchfest, and don’t forget to stop by from 3-4 p.m. for Teni Rane!
